# Claister documentation

How an accounting firm runs its clients, recurring work, documents and messages in Claister, step by step.

Claister is a workspace for accounting firms. Clients, the work you do for them every month, the documents you collect, your conversations with clients and the time it all takes live in one place, and Clais, the assistant, helps with each of them.

Your accounting software stays the system of record. Claister never files a return, posts an entry or changes your books by itself.

## How Claister treats AI

Clais may read, draft and suggest. Anything that is sent to a client, attached, completed or changed waits for a person to confirm it: on a card with a button, or with the form's own **Save**. You always see what is about to happen before it happens.

:::tip
New to Claister? Open **Home** and follow **First steps**. Each step has **Show me how**, a short guide on the real page that lights one control at a time.
